comforting gaze
The gaze of a chicken, what do chickens think? Maybe the chicken wanted out of the cage. Lohbado would have enjoyed playing a game with the chicken: where did the chicken lay the egg?

writing on the wall
Lohbado enjoyed stopping from time to time to read the writing and graffiti on the wall. Hieroglyphics, Lohbado had no idea what it all meant. Who is Kruz? What is Sake? What about Run? A man once said demons pop up as gangsters or gang members who will guide you through the Valley of Death where you can work out your karma and be purified. It's part of a battle between the forces of darkness or evil and the forces of good or the light.

waking dream
A sudden wave of colour, amber, crimson, gold, sea-green, blue swept over Lohbado as he sat on a balcony with cats and enjoyed late afternoon. The brief moment would soon be forgotten, along with just about everything else. It felt strange to wake up for an instant, to gaze at changing forms, to experience sensations, then to sink back into discursiveness or daydream. The vivid, flickering instant of noticing colour and form was refreshing. Smile, let go. Are you awake or dreaming?

visual field
Lohbado paused to enjoy shapes, lines, colours and textures of the visual field. What are you looking at right now? It's easy to drift along in a blur, barely noticing things. Or if one notices, one might apply a word, without really looking at what's in front of the eye... oh, brick chimney, phone pole, power lines, clouds, buildings, huh, whatever. What's so special about a bunch of power lines or a brick wall?
Well, to quote William Carlos Williams poem, The Red Wheelbarrow: "So much depends upon a red wheel barrow glazed with rain water beside the white chickens."

manic
When
one spends a lot of time alone, one’s mind could become vivid. Pleasurable or painful emotions could take over when
there’s no one around to interrupt reverie. Of course, one might bump into
something, or get careless. This could bring one back to earth, out of the
clouds, out of daydream or stupor.

hot day for a ride
Lohbado rode his bicycle down to Lachine Canal in Montreal. It was quite comfortable in the shade. He gazed at soothing reflections on the water and at industrial sites on the opposite side of the canal. The ride home was a killer, all the way up a steep incline to Cote des Neiges. Lohbado worked up a sweat. He lay on the sofa to catch his breath.
