Moronovian dream interpretation

Play the funny game of dream interpretation. At night images bubble up in dreams, a broken windshield, a damaged SUV in decay on the tundra, pieces of plastic and old machinery, one could piece them together into a story, or simply enjoy the poetic sequence of colour, texture and form.

If one wishes to go further, it becomes like an ink blot test. Read whatever you like into the images. Sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words. And of course, there's the unspoken story. How did the SUV get destroyed? Why are the windshields cracked or broken?

rock hill caribou dream

photos taken in Kangirsuk, Nunavik 2007
Lohbado dreamed about visiting the tundra again, north of tree line, a land of rock, water and wildlife. He found an old typewriter, draped a caribou skin over a stool and typed out a few paragraphs about his grandmother.

Pre-Distroboto Hootenanny

Another foot stomping heart rousing hootenanny took place at Brasserie Beaubien in Montreal yesterday evening. The theme of the show was to celebrate 16 years of Distroboto, a project founded by Louis Rastelli in 2001. He bought old cigarette vending machines and transformed them into machines which dispense zines, music recordings, art objects and curios. After the hootenanny, music performances occurred at Casa del Popolo.

dream card

At the tabernacle of dreams the Chief Nomroh offered Lohbado a blank dream card with a space to fill in between the lines or in the circle. Lohbado gazed at the card for a long time then woke up and sneezed.

women welcome

Lohbado walked down St. Hubert in Montreal, past a store filled with old mannikins, past a bar that had bienvenue aux dames (women welcome) painted on the window. This was about ten years ago. Maybe it's still there. Strange expression, it made Lohbado uneasy. The occurrence of such a sign is a testimony about a time and place when women were not welcome, an outrageous state of affairs. Who decides who is welcome and who is not welcome?

a hootenanny of a good time in Montreal

Another friendly foot stomping hootennanny took place at Brasserie Beaubien in Montreal yesterday evening. It's a great way to socialize and beat the winter blues and celebrate the first signs of spring.

spring fever

the euphoria of sitting outside
After being indoors all winter and enduring a snow storm last week, it felt wonderful to be outside and relax in the sunshine in Montreal.

microcosmos

The micro world of bacteria, blood cells, parasites, tiny insects is not evident to the naked eye. Lohbado sometimes could feel the presence of microscopic creatures, but could't see them.

a heavy duty snowfall in Montreal

Just when people were hoping spring was about to begin, another 30 to 40 mm of snow fell on Montreal. It was a real mess. It will take a few days to clean up. Soon it will start melting.

more snow in Montreal

A lot of snow came down starting yesterday afternoon. Lohbado had a surprise when opening the door to head out for morning walk. It was hard to walk down the street, until ploughs came to clear the way. A lot of vehicles got stuck. It would be best to leave the vehicle at home and take public transit on a day like this.
