dream question

Are you awake or are you dreaming? Is this really happening? Well, of course. If you have any doubt, pinch yourself. Ouch! Ok, so we're all in this together. Many levels of reality appear to be happening all at once. Sit up. Pay attention. Maintain dignity. Take a deep breath...

Trumpty Dumpty

Trumpty Dumpty sat on a wall. Trumpty Dumpty had a great fall. All the queen's horses and all the king's men, couldn't put Dumpty together again.

4 ways to cheer up

Sometimes it's handy to have a few suggestions for when things get rough. Four suggestions from the Club Morono Tabernacle: acknowledge suffering; have a sense of humour; pay attention and enjoy sense perceptions and most important of all, cultivate friendliness. Lohbado came up with these suggestions as he lay back in the dentist chair while the dentist sawed a molar in half. It felt like he was in the process of dying. Then Lohbado reflected on what was most important. He regretted past foolishness and realized friendliness is what counts.

I forgot to put in the credits guest appearance of brother Kenneth, Seth and Maggy.

fear and confusion

What exactly do you fear most? It would be interesting to do a survey. Ask a hundred people to describe their fears. Lohbado sat down to look at his mind. It was like taking the lid off a petri dish. All sorts of thoughts swirling around, pulsating mental chatter. It often pulsated according to a mythological overlay of hope and fear, friend and enemy, good and bad. The mind might cling to anything and declare it to be good, then set off to evangelize, to save the world or to feel superior to bad people. If one can't find an enemy, create one. Or one might start hating oneself. The good thing about bad is it lets you feel good by virtue of feeling better than the bad. If all else fails... pour a cup of coffee and examine a donut. Try to find the centre and edge of a donut. Is the hole, which contains nothing, part of the donut? How can nothing be part of something?

pain killer

Lohbado spent the weekend in a stupor of pain killers after having two molars pulled out. It didn't take long for him to notice pain killers were worse than the pain. He stopped taking them and felt better. A certain level of pain is a normal part of the human condition. He preferred regular stabbing, grinding pain to the nausea of being knocked senseless on his back on the sofa.

Lohbado goes to the dentist

After 8 years of fear and procrastination, Lohbado finally went to the dentist. Pain motivated him to seek out dental care. The dentist removed two molars. She did a fine job. Before leaving the dentist office, Lohbado made an appointment to have a few cavities cleaned out and filled. Lohbado left the building, a mouth full of blood and drool flowing into his beard. He took pain killers as suggested then felt a bit strange, like a clown as he walked down the streets. Sights and sounds became hyper vivid. Various forms became characters pulsating in Lohbado's visual field.

cutting room at the tabernacle

A cutting room floor is where unused film ended up when film was being edited for a movie. Down by Lachine Canal is an old malt brewery, in ruins, covered in colourful graffiti. One of the doors had cutting room sprayed on it, maybe referring to a horror movie or a novel. It definitely was a place where one could make a movie. The Moronovian Tabernacle is any place where one could feel a sense of imagination, beauty and playful enjoyment of being.

big baloney

When push comes to shove, what counts is the ability to deliver baloney, lots of it. We're talking about enough baloney to pave entire streets and the sidewalks as well. By the baloney you speak, people will know you're number one. Pile it on. Soft, easy to swallow, very digestible, good old baloney, as patriotic as spaghetti and mashed potatoes. I'm going to eat some right now.

desire to win

To win above all else was the motto of Captain Dream. First win, then decide what you won. Whatever you won is less important than the fact you won. You could have won status to the world's biggest moron, to a slobbering, pee-stained bully. Doesn't matter. If you win you win. That's what matters. That's what people see. That's what people like.

interaction

Interaction, heated exchange, warm situation, inner search, outer meaning, symbolic expression Lohbado dreamed. Two forms drifted together in a flesh toned room and began dancing around each other. They were drawn together, yet wished to maintain a safe distance, yet fairly close. The light, transparent shapes turned into butterflies and dissolved into a meadow.

bugs in the pudding

Strange things happen during the season of grogginess, when it becomes increasingly difficult to concentrate. It's easy to get slopping and allow bugs and bacteria to seep in.

Bug Runner

Winter flu or cold, the bugs are coming. Head for the hills. Maybe it's good to go in the forest, make fresh contact with the good old outdoors, pretend current events aren't happening. Go way back to Eden.

secret hand gestures

Lohbado at the temple asked Dr. Jane Wormsly to teach him the secret hand gestures. There are so many things one might wish to say, but words fail, or don't do justice to the mental images or sensations one wishes to convey. Dr. Jane Wormsly often danced. She felt it was a more accurate expression of her feelings. Lohbado went to the temple and asked her to teach him some hand movements. At his age, dancing was a bit of a challenge. His joints were often stiff and sore. But his hands were flexible. Hand movements could be a powerful way to loosen up and enjoy the moment.

Lohbado listening to a recording of his grandmother's voice on the radio

After a couple weeks of festive season, Lohbado woke at 3 AM, turned on a hand crank radio and heard a recording of his grandmother Aida's voice. She suggested that if he could get over obsession with himself, he might experience great joy. The cause of suffering is based on a huge misunderstanding. Things aren't so solid as they seem. Reality is transparent and fluid. Her advice was to pay attention to details, don't take yourself so seriously, relax and have a sense of humour.

Club Morono New Year Video Greeting 2017

click on picture to see video. Happy New Year from the Chief Nomroh, Lohbado and members of the Moronovian Tabernacle. The pink unicorn underlined the importance of a friendly approach to the upcoming year. Friendliness, understanding, compassion, intelligence, the world is in need of good qualities to subdue the enemies of aggression, ignorance and greed lurking in one's mind.

wash your hands

With flu, snort and cough season well under way, Lohbado thought of how his grandmother Aida Stumps, who was a nurse before she married the Reverend Woodlot Stumps, preacher and founder of the Church of the Living Monument, would tell him to wash his hands. Lohbado, then Peter Stumps, feared microbes more than he feared sin. Sin was something abstract, related to his father's bad moods. Punishment was erratic and often had little connection with any sort of offence. Bacteria, on the other hand, could lead to immediate viral chaos, sore throat, vomiting, diarrhea, running nose, fever. Peter Stumps never forgot grandmother Stumps insistence that he wash his hands.

brother Kenneth on New Years Eve

Lohbado visited brother Kenneth on New Year's Eve who took him to the local tabernacle. Brother Kenneth says hello to the world and wishes everyone a happy new year.
