Temptation of Lohbado

espresso, cappuccino and hot chocolate
the promised land
After fasting all night Lohbado was thirsty. Lucifer took Lohbado up to the top of a building in the centre of an island in a mighty river flowing to the great ocean.

Lucifer said to Lohbado: "All this could be yours if you will worship me. As a token of your belief, I request one espresso, one cappuccino and one hot chocolate." Lohbado said he would make an offering of the requested beverages, but he would never worship Lucifer. Lucifer shrugged his shoulders and said, "Ok, at least that's a start." Then Lucifer vanished and Lohbado found himself, once again, in his basement apartment, wondering why such an apparently powerful being was so obsessed with being worshiped.

free coffee

It's day 2 of free coffee at McDonalds. They're also offering sticker cards. Each paper cup contains a sticker, which you attach to a card. 7 stickers on the card entitles the bearer to a free coffee. Lohbado got up at 4:30 AM in order to be there for opening time at 5 AM. After lunch, he went out again for another free coffee.

Morono Man once busted up a group of men who were making counterfeit coffee cards.... but that's another story.

OOGAH BOARD

Oogah board designed by Lohbado
Lohbado designed and tested this miraculous device during a Mannlicher Radio broadcast, via Skype, on Saturday afternoon. With this Oogah Board, one could unscramble words, evoking sentences, images, worlds, situations, possibilities. The letters could recreate memories. The board was definitely superior to Lohbado's previous method of grasping at straws.

Using this Oogah Board, Lohbado was able to summon demons to vacuum and clean up his apartment. One of the demons made Lohbado a pot of coffee, but burned the toast. There are still a few bugs to iron out. Club Morono takes no responsibility for anyone daring enough to obtain and try out the amazing new miraculous Oogah Board.

99 bottles of beer on the wall

99 bottles of beer on the wall

Randy invited people over to celebrate winning 288 bottles of beer. Randy put 99 bottle of beer on the wall. Each person who took a beer sang a line from the song, until there were no more bottles of beer on the wall. Randy received the prize in a draw for those who made donations to CKUT, McGill radio during the radio fundraising drive two years ago. He finally received his prize this year.

Jack Twinkleton and Jill Hubbard

Ok, here's a preview to upcoming Club Morono comics which will be available at Expozine:

Jack Twinkelton's major mistake lay in his wanting to be a star. After a quick rise to fame, he failed to jump over the moon. All the Queen’s kittens and all the King’s dogs, failed to put Twinkleton together again. His like status went way down. His videos failed to grow viral. Jill Hubbard, after putting a bone in the cupboard, said he would always be her little star, up above the world, so high.

Oogah sky

acrylic on wood
Several years ago, on a flight back to the city after a six month stretch in the Secret Desert, Lohbado gazed out the window at various worlds and concepts about reality. It made him pause to question the way his mind imposed filters, how he interpreted things according to whether they suited his self-interest. It was a little shocking to see how self-interest could limit his experience of life, reducing it to nothing more than a struggle to survive and get attention.

I made a mistake

drawing by Lohbado

Sometimes the wisest thing is to admit you made a mistake. Lohbado confessed and vowed to do his best to not make a similar mistake. Of course, he knew he would likely make many more mistakes before he died. Ultimately, it's not a big deal. One can learn from mistakes.

Sometimes vanity, or ego prevent a person from admitting he or she made a mistake. It's sad to watch a person undertake counterproductive or harmful action, rather than admit that one was wrong.

at the strip mall

There was something monumental about the sheer flat, boring, grey bleakness of the strip mall. It's enough to make a person tired. Suddenly, a colourful young woman walks by, providing a moment of life in the mausoleum-type setting.

Lohbado on the Plains of Radiation

acrylic on wood
This picture matches the time of year, autumn, leaves turning red, gold and then brown as they dry out and fall on the ground. The radiation is sort of like a wave of drowsiness. The body becomes heavy and tired, the mind cloudy and dull. Each footstep requires great effort. One has no choice but to keep going. As grogginess intensified, Lohbado's mind slowed down. Things became vivid and spacious. The autumn leaves falling and blowing about appeared like letters of the alphabet.

Lohbado heaved a sigh of relaxation. Biofeedback rippled through his body.

The Chief Nomroh

acrylic on paper and wood

The Chief Nomroh presides over the Secret Tabernacle at the Moronovian Temple. Not much can be said about it, because attendants of the tabernacle maintain strict secrecy, although from time to time, rituals have been performed in meadows, in the forest, or at the top of cliffs overlooking the sea. The rituals provide a way to slow down and connect with what's there all along, staring you in the face, but you were too busy or in too much of a hurry to see it. The rituals wallow in sensual contact with the earth, rock, vegetation, heat and the sky. Sometimes, during rituals, the spirit of the Great Nomroh appears in the guise of Oogah or Oorsis, to disrupt one's naive beliefs about reality and to demonstrate the transparent, dreamlike nature of appearances.

birthday party

blogger code won't let me centre the top picture Ok, so what does it mean to be Lohbado and to go to a party? Everyone has their own experience and memories. The party was fun, lots of beautiful people. It was fun to smile and have a drink and enjoy being among people.
