Lohbado sat in the back yard and looked at windows and doors in the brick wall. As he drank coffee and day dreamed about red cliffs overlooking the ocean, morning grumpiness dissolved.

did you do your homework?

Lohbado working on a book

The big question remains: did you do your homework. Since the beginning of the year, the teacher has been "teaching towards the exam." In other words, the purpose of education is to score high on exams. Curiosity, innovation, imagination and creativity are irrelevant. In this age of nihilistic materialism and conformity, it's the numbers that count.

Lohbado's approach to creativity provides an alternative to the competitive, goal-orientated model of creating consumer goods. Made according to Club Morono principles, Lohbado's painted books involve direct contact with the elements of food, drink, metal, rock, air and fire. The paintings occur during tactile rituals. The above pictures are from a typical Lohbado art session. The images are unfinished.

Lohbado's Promise

After a week at the house of Ruth Winters, a quiet middle-aged woman, Lohbado picked up hints that it was time for him to leave. Ruth enjoyed Lohbado’s company, but she also needed her own space.

Lohbado stuffed his extra socks, underwear, toothbrush, lined scribblers and The Book of Oogah in his pack and started down the road. He paused to remove a stone from his shoe. If he ever made it to Yamaville, Lohbado would buy new shoes. Many a sole got worn out on the long highway from birth to death.
