rue St. Hubert Montreal

Rue St. Hubert is one of my favorite streets in Montreal. Walk the stretch from Jarry down to Beaubien. The density of alphabet, signs, shops and people makes it a lively experience. One can point the camera and click endlessly and come up with interesting images. I used a pocket camera in order to avoid attracting attention, since people have become increasingly hostile and anxious about photographers, even though just about everyone has a camera device. Pictures are being taken constantly and yet, there's still tension. I never understood this. I respect privacy and rarely take people shots anymore.

North of Jean Talon on St Hubert one will find numerous fabric shops. Montreal used to have a thriving textile industry.
